1. What does the word “JIZO” means?
(JEE’-zoh), n., an ancient deity who is said to be the protector of all travelers.


2. What is JIZO platform about?
JIZO helps enthusiastic travelers discover themed social groups and meet people from all over the world,
based on the same hobbies, likes, interests, and preferences; and to travel the way they never did
before!


3. Is there a cost to join JIZO?

Yes. In order to join JIZO platform, you will need to pay $10 both as a traveler or a group creator. If you are a group creator, it will cost you $10 per every group you are going to create.


4. How do I join JIZO?

You can join JIZO Platform via your Facebook, Google or LinkedIn account.


5. What should I do if I just registered with JIZO, but I haven’t received my authorization email yet?
The JIZO authorization email notifications usually take about five minutes to receive, but we also
recommend for you to check your SPAM/JUNK folder just in case it doesn’t show up in your inbox.
Please contact our support team if you still have not received it within a reasonable period. Our
“Contact Us” support details are listed on our home page.


6. Why is it important for me to indicate my hobbies, likes, and interests?

We ask you to add up to five of your interests, so we can send you group recommendations, based on something that you really like, so you can plan an awesome trip that suits your likes and preferences the most!


7. Should I be a traveler, a group creator, or can I be both?
You can be either a traveler or a group creator, in fact you can be both if you want. Depending on your
interests, you can join an existing themed-group or create and lead one of your own. In any case you’ll
meet people from all over the world who share similar likes and go on a journey that you really enjoy.

8. Can I invite people to join my trip?
Yes. After you have created/joined a group you are able to share it with all your friends in messengers
and social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, Skype and WeChat.


9. What is the meeting point?

The meeting point is the place where you are going to meet with the rest of the group members on the
start date of your trip.

10. How can I search for groups?
There are several ways to search for groups. You can use the options “Where”, Why”, “When”, or
“With”, on the JIZO homepage, or you can use the search bar to search by destination country or city,
dates, interests or any keywords. There will be additional filters on the results page, to help you find the
groups that best match what you’re looking for.

11. How can I filter my search results?

After you have made your search, you will be able to filter the results by date, destination, group theme,language, location to help you find the group that suits your interests the most.


12. How can I delete my account?
Use the “Contact Us” link to send your request to our team, and one of our moderators will assist you
further.


13. How can I change my email address?

Go to your profile page and click the “Profile” tab, then click the “Contact Information” tab and

update your email address.

14. Can other users see what JIZO groups I’m involved with?

Yes, all JIZO groups that you have joined, created or added to your watchlist are displayed on your profile page. In case if you have joined/create a private group, then it will not be displayed anywhere on the website.


15. Can other users see my interests?
Yes, your interests are displayed on your profile page.


16. How can I edit my interests?

You can edit your interests by going to the “Profile” tab, from your Dashboard.


17. Can I change my profile name?

Yes, you can edit profile your name by going to the “Profile” tab, from your Dashboard.


18. Why don’t I receive any JIZO emails?
Check to see if the JIZO emails are going to your spam folder and verify that your email address is
spelled correctly. In any event, please “Contact Us” if you’d like any additional support.


19. Can I message other JIZO users?
Yes, you message any other user from their JIZO Profile page.

20. What type of content is prohibited on JIZO?
JIZO strictly prohibits any user to post to any group or other users; any multi-level
marketing/advertisements, or any unlawful content, including gambling, adult content, escort services,
drugs/alcohol/tobacco use, weapons/ammunition, or any other illegal activities.


21. How can I contact JIZO for support?

If you do not find the answer you’re looking for in our F.A.Q.s, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, About JIZO, or How It Works, you may contact us any time for support by clicking the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of any JIZO Page, where you can indicate the topic of your question and ask our Support Team anything you need to get help with.


22. What is “Video-Selfie”?
This is your group or personal video introduction that you can upload and let other users know more
about your interest, including any groups that you’re planning. It’s a great way to meet people from all
over the world and it also makes your profile more trustworthy.

23. What should I say in my “Personal Introduction”?

Let the other users know who you are. What are your likes, hobbies, and interests? What trips have you
taken recently? What cities and/or countries did you travel to and what was your experience there? This
is a great way to meet people from all over the world and these personal details will help make your
profile more trustworthy.


24. Can I follow JIZO on any social media networks for more information?

Yes, you can find us on Facebook and Instagram for all the latest updates, news, and exciting new features that we’ll be introducing soon! Besides that, you can also find JIZO on Youtube, Pinterest and Telegram, too.

25. Why should I connect my facebook Messenger to JIZO?

We ask all our users to connect their Facebook Messengers to their JIZO accounts in order to receive JIZO notifications about new messages, group chat discussions or any other activities, related to your personal account straight to your Facebook Messenger.

 

26. Why should I add countries that i am interested to visit?

We ask all our users to add the countries they want to visit in the near future in order to send them the best group recommendations and newsletters that fit their travel wishes and expectations the most.

 

27. What is a group video call?

Group video call is the conference, planned for the certain date and time before the start day of the trip, when travelers and group creator can gather all together to get acquainted in advance, learn more about each other and discuss their  plans for the future trip.

 

For JIZO Traveler

1. Do I have to be registered with JIZO to view any groups on the platform?
You don’t have to be registered with JIZO to look through the groups that our users have created. You

can see all the details, including the group descriptions and other information, however you will only
have access to the group chat after you have joined a group.


2. How many groups can I join?
There are no limits to the number of groups you can join.


3. How much does it cost to join a group?

As a traveler, you will need to pay $10 per every group that you would like to join.


4. What kind of groups can I find on JIZO?
You can find any travel related groups on JIZO. After joining our platform, you are offered multiple group
themes to choose from like; hiking, cooking, festivals, diving, sightseeing, art and many others, so that
we can give you the best group recommendations in the future, that best match your interests. You can
join any of them and meet people from all over the world that share the same preferences as you do!


5. Can I contact the group creator directly?
Yes of course! You can contact any JIZO user directly by sending a message to their inbox.


6. Can I talk to the other group members directly before the trip begins?
Yes, you can talk to the other group members about your trip, via group chat after you have joined a
group, and you can also contact any JIZO user directly, by sending a message to their inbox.


7. How do I join a group on JIZO?
Once you have found a group that your interested in, just click the “Join” button, and your request will
be sent to the group creator for review. You will receive an email and a note in your JIZO inbox, of
whether your request has been accepted or declined.


8. What happens after I join the group?
Once your request was approved and you have joined the group, you will have access to the group chat.
This is where you will be able to get acquainted with the other group members and plan your trip
together. In addition, the group creator will schedule at least one video call at some point before your
trip.


9. How will I know if any changes have been made to a group that I’ve joined?
You will receive an email and a note in your JIZO inbox, if there have been any changes or updates to the
group that you’ve joined.

 

10. How can I join a Private Group?

As private groups are not displayed anywhere on the website,it is not possible to find it via search bar on JIZO Homepage. You can join a private group only by following the special link, provided by the group creator.

 


For JIZO Creator

1. Do I have to be registered with JIZO to create a group?
Yes, you must be a registered user on JIZO if you want to create a group. Once you create a group, you
will be listed as the “Group Creator” on the group page, and the group members will be able to contact
you with any questions.


2. Does it cost anything to create a group on JIZO?

Yes. As a group creator you will need to pay $10 per every group that you would like to create.


3. Can I create more than one group?
There are no limits to the number of groups you can create. Nevertheless, you will need to pay $10 per every group that you would like to create.

4. How do I create a JIZO group?

To create a group, just login and click “Create JIZO Group” at the top of the Home page, or go to your profile and click the “Create JIZO Group” button from the “My JIZO Groups” tab. Complete all the necessary fields, such as Group title, theme, ages and size, as well as the group travel dates, description, budget, etc. Once your group has been saved, it will be sent to our moderators for review and then displayed on JIZO for all users to access. 

Be aware that creating a group costs money, so after you complete filling in all the required fields, you will be charged 10$ pe every group that you create.


5. What details should I include in the “Group Description”?
We recommend you provide as much information as possible for your trip, such as an itinerary,
highlights, what’s included, etc. These important details will let other users know about your group
plans and inspire them to join your group.


6. Can I make changes to the JIZO Group that I’ve already created?
Yes, you can edit any details included in your group. However, we do recommend that you discuss the
changes with the existing members via group chat, to make sure they are comfortable with the updated
information. After you have made the changes to your group, the members will automatically get a
notification in their inbox and email.

7. What should I name my group?
We recommend that the title of your group be short and clear, so that other JIZO users will have a basic
idea of what your group is about.


8. How many people can join my group?
While creating your group, you will set the minimum and maximum number of travelers to join your
trip.


9. Can I create a group that includes multiple destinations?
Yes, you will be able to indicate all the destinations that will be included in your trip.

 

10. What happens if someone wants to join the group I created?

You will receive a “Join Request” if someone wants to go with you on your trip, and you will have to
accept or decline their request, based on your group criteria.


11. What kind of groups can I create on JIZO?
You can create any travel related groups on JIZO. When creating a group, you’re offered several
different themes to choose from, like hiking, cooking, festivals, diving, sightseeing and many others.
Your group theme can be almost anything you’re passionate about, except any unlawful or illegal
content.


12. Can I talk to my group members directly before the trip starts?
Yes. You will have a special group chat, which will be displayed only for you and your group members,
where you will be able to discuss all the group related details. You will also be able to contact any JIZO
member directly, by writing a message to their inbox.


13. Can I cancel a group that I have created?
If you no longer want to lead a group, you may deactivate it from your profile page, by indicating one of the provided reasons for deactivation like: your group didn’t reach its minimum number of travelers; the event a group was going to visit was suddenly cancelled; major natural or technological disaster in the region; mass protests or political instability in the region; state of emergency or military actions in the region; health problems etc.


14. What language can I use for my group?
While creating the group, you will have the opportunity to select the preferable language you want your
group members to speak.


15. How can I inform my group members about any changes made to my group?
You can inform everyone via your group chat, about any changes made to your group program, plus the
members will automatically get a notification in their inbox and email, that there have been some
changes to the group.


16. How do I control who joins my group?
You will receive a “Join Request” if someone wants to go with you on your trip, and you will have to
accept or decline their request, based on your group criteria.

 

17. What is Group Deadline?

Group Deadline is a due date, by when the number of group members should reach its allowed minimum to make it happen.

 

18. What is a Private Group?

A private group will not be shown in search results or displayed anywhere on the website. Other users will be able to join it only by following the unique link provided by you.

 

19. What kinds of group creators are available on JIZO?

There are two types of group creators on JIZO Platform. You can become either a non-professional or a travel-professional group creator, depending on your travel experience and expectations from the future trips.

 

20. Who is a non-professional group creator?

A Non-Professional Group Creator organizes a one time unique group trip for friends, family or coworkers, etc.

The Non-Professional Group Creator is not responsible for the airline tickets to and from meeting points or the hotel costs, and only sets the approximate daily budget for possible extra spending: such as local public transportation, entertainment tickets, restaurants, etc. The Non-Professional Group Creator must use the group description to specify as many possible details of the group trip, to avoid any miscommunication.

 

22. Who is a travel-professional group creator?

The travel-professional group creator organizes repeated groups for the same destinations and agenda.

The travel-professional group creator sets the total per person cost of the land package, and may include or exclude the cost of the airline tickets to and from meeting points. The travel-professional group creator must use the group description to specify as many possible details of the group trip, to avoid any miscommunication.
