About Group
Having been under the radar for many years, Mardi Himal Trek has finally started to get the recognition it deserves and the trail provides some of the best views of the picturesque Annapurna Massif and the ever-so-popular Machhapuchhre Peak. Apart from the obvious attraction of the massive Himalayan range, the possibility to witness the indeginous lifestyle, diverse biology, and the serene landscape are some of the other plus points of the trek.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Katmandu, one of our team will be there to welcome and greet you, then drive to the hotel so you can unwind and rest, hook into the free wifi or explore the local area.
During the evening there will be a welcome dinner to meet and greet with your ‘trekking guide team’ members and all other trekkers going o the Mardi Himal adventure trek.

Day 02: Trip Orientation and Briefing at the Hotel
After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, we will have a trip orientation meeting to learn about your stay in Nepal and answer any questions/concerns about the itinerary.
Most importantly after the briefing, we will go through the checklist of all the required gear and items to make sure you are equipped for the journey. If you require more items, there are many local trekking shops to accommodate what you need.
When all are satisfied each person is fully equipped, we’ll go out on a Katmandu Sightseeing Day Tour, around one of the important cultural hubs of the valley. Katmandu city alone holds four heritage sites that are listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
Duration 6-7 hours Distance 20km After breakfast we will set off to Pokhara by coach/bus, departing at 7 am.
You can enjoy the magnificent views along the Prithivi Highway passing terraced farms, villages, rivers, dense forests, and views of the Himalayas.
We have two stops along the way for breakfast and lunch (a great coffee stop) before arriving in Pokhara.
Pokhara is an idyllic lakeside township highlighted by the majestic Annapurna mountain range forming a masterful snowcapped backdrop to the scenic lake. After resting at the hotel we’ll take a short walk to ‘lakeside’ to get our bearings and enjoy the scenery, then return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 04:Pokhara to Kande then onto Deurali trek 2100m
Duration 4 hours distance 5 km
We drive to the first part of our adventure after breakfast from the hotel, for approx. 40mins to Kande along the Pokhara Baglung highway to start our trek to Mardi Himal.
The trail climbs for about 1 ½ hrs to the ridge at 2,060m. Through a clearing in the forest, we have our first break at a lodge settlement known as ‘Australian camp’ with panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley.
After a break, we wind through the beauty of the rhododendron forest to a mountain pass called ‘Deurali, which overlooks into the Modi Khola valley, which is wedged between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal(Mt Fishtail) to camp for the night.

Day 05: Trek to Forest camp 2550m
Duration 6/7 hours distance 8.2 km
Waking up to a spectacular morning on the ridge-top village of Deurali, we head off the main Annapurna trekking trail to follow the forested ridge to our next destination, Forest camp.
Today we will have a packed lunch on hand and sufficient water as there are no teahouses along the way.
It’s a gradual uphill climb (tiny ups) walking in the rhododendron forest to seeing tiny waterfalls in the freshness of the rainforest.

Day 06: On to Badal Danda 3200M
Duration 5 hours Distance 5km
More gradual climbs through the rhododendron forest following the ridge, you’ll find yourself closer to clear blue sky with scenic views of the Himalayan foothills and the sweeping valley towards the south.
We stop for lunch at ‘Low Camp’ then continue onto Badal Danda (Cloud Hill), above the tree lines. There is only one lodge in Badal Danda and its views are a stunning panorama to Mt Fishtail-Mardi Himal and appear very close on the horizon.

Day 07: Trek to High Camp 3 Hours 3,550 M
Duration 3 hours Distance 3km
From Badal Danda, we leave the tree line ridge and trek along the majestic alpine zone.
Snowcapped peaks of Annapurna South, Huinchuli, and Fishtail looms in the distance above deep valleys on either side of the alpine ridge.
After some climbing, we stop at ‘High camp’ which has three lodges to bunk in. Here you’ll find yourself above the clouds and closer to the snowy mountains.

Day 08: The big to reach and explore Mardi Base camp 4500m
Duration 5 hours base camp 1000m meter ascent distance 5km and 4 hours back to High Camp 1000m descent
Today the trek is a steep climb and a longer walk. The trail becomes more vertiginous at some points with uneven and steep rocky steps.
The first steep climb will take about two hours to the ridge top Mardi Himal Base Camp (MBC).
However, our overnight base camp will take about another two hours along the ridge. The panoramic views are amazing all along the alpine ridge.
While Mardi Himal and Mt Fishtail appear right above us, the view of Annapurna I, Gangapurna, and Annapurna III also appear in the distance.

Day 09: Trek to Forest Camp 4 hours
Even though the scenery is stationary, the season and sunlight make it different and interesting.
Enjoy the morning watching the change that the sunrise brings and we then walk down to forest camp after breakfast.

Day 10: Walk Down to Lwang Gurung village 4 Hrs / 1,500 m
The trail climbs down steeply through the rhododendron and maple forest to the permanent settlements closer to the valley basin.
Lwang is a self-sufficient Gurung village with rich culture and happy people. The village is the best place to watch the Nepalese countryside lifestyle and enjoy organic food.
The village farmers also grow organic tea in 50 hectares of land and offer homestay style accommodation.
The waterfall in the outskirts of the village also offers one of the most exciting canyoning adventures.

Day 11: Back to Pokhara
We wander on down to the Mardi River basin to meet up with our 4WD ride back to Pokhara. It will take about 1 ½ hrs to get to Pokhara on an adventurous dirt road track.
Back to the luxuries of our last day stay in Pokhara.

Day 12:Pokhara – Kathmandu.
We have the option to fly back to Katmandu, at an extra cost (approx. US$140, 25 mins) or go by coach.
After breakfast, we will depart Pokhara and go back to Kathmandu.
In the evening at 18:30, we will all meet up to go for a Nepali farewell dinner along with a cultural show

Day 13: Departure Day & Farewells
You are saying goodbye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today!
There is nothing to do but swap emails with your travel companions and organize your photos.
If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu, and please ask if you require any more of our services
